About
Preaching worth passing on
Oikos is the Greek word for household. Oikos Sermons is the household’s study: a curated library of the best preaching we can find, gathered for Christian families to hear, read, and talk through together.
A sermon, heard at the right moment, can change the course of a life. The ones that did that for us are worth passing on — so we gather them here, choose them with care, and set them in type worth reading.
Each sermon comes with a word-synced transcript: as the preacher speaks, the words take on ink — and tapping any word takes the audio to that exact moment. It reads like a book and listens like a sermon, so young readers stay with it to the end.
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. — Romans 10:17
And each sermon carries a few questions to talk through, so what your family hears becomes a conversation at your table — not just something that played. The library is free, with no ads and no paywall.
697 sermons · 40 preachers · every one by permission
Curated twice over
Every sermon here is chosen — first by us, and then by you. We read and listen widely, with some help from thoughtful AI to surface candidates and draft the age guidance, topics, and questions; a person decides what earns a place. It’s a small library on purpose: curated, not scraped.
Then the curation that matters most is yours. You know your children — their ages, their questions, the season each one is in. So you choose what’s right for each child: build a queue, assign a series, set what they’re ready for. We gather the best; you shape the shelf.
Built for families
Oikos Sermons is made for Christian families — homeschoolers especially — who want their children raised on preaching that lasts. Give each child their own profile, guide what they hear by age and readiness, and follow along with what they’ve listened to. It’s the sister room to Oikos Audio: same household, and the same care, turned to the study.
Every sermon is here by permission
Nothing enters this library without the written permission of the ministry that holds the rights to it. We ask first, we keep the agreement on file, and every sermon page carries the ministry’s attribution line. If a ministry ever changes its mind, one request unpublishes everything of theirs — immediately.
For ministries
If you lead or serve a ministry whose preaching you’d like to see here: we’d love to talk. You grant permission we can point to; we handle the transcription, the read-along, and the hosting — and your preaching reaches a new generation of families at their kitchen tables. The terms, plainly:
- You keep your rights
- You grant permission to share; nothing transfers. We keep the written agreement on file and can point to it any time.
- Attribution on every page
- Each sermon page carries your ministry’s attribution line and links back to you.
- Verbatim, always
- We never edit the preaching. Transcripts are word-for-word and reviewed for accuracy; the audio is only processed for loudness.
- One request unpublishes
- Change your mind and everything of yours comes down at once — no forms, no waiting period on our side.
- No cost, no lock-in
- Free for ministries and for listeners. No accounts, no ads, no paywall — ever.
Oikos Sermons is the sister room to Oikos Audio — the study to its fireside.
